Are product junkies going to far with all the products in their bathroom and/or room? When you completed the transitioning phase of going natural, did you get excited and buy this product and that product..Oh and this product and I'll grab this one too. Its so easy to get excited because you made a simple but life changing decision in your life. Here's my advice for those who are respectfully speaking "junkies" or those heading in that direction. This video is for naturals but especially for those who are transitioning or thinking about going natural.
Here's a silly/corny video on my opinions of a product junkie.

My DIY Bead Threader for Braids
This is an extension of my other video “Braids & Beads For Your Little Girl”
I braided her hair with the intentions of adding beads to my daughter’s hair but I forgot all about the beading process. So I decide to make a homemade bead threader. I didn’t have time to go get one because I had so much on my plate. But it got the job done. If you happen to get in the same situation as I did, here are short instructions on how to make your own bead threader with a paper clip or ornament hook.

If you happen to get in the same situation as I did, here are short instructions on how to make your own bead threader with a paper clip or ornament hook.
Steps
1). All you have to do is Make a loop on one side of the paper clip or ornament hook.
2). Then straighten the other side for the beads to go through.
3). String the beads onto the straight side of the paper clip/ornament hook.
4). Make a hook on the straight side.
5). Then hook the paper clip/ornament hook onto the end of the braid.
* Use something to keep the beads intact like a small ouchless rubber band.*
There you have it. This was my last minute option. So if you get in this situation then you can use this easy to do tutorial to attach beads to your child's hair.

The Importance of Natural Ingredients for Your Hair
The importance of utilizing natural hair products are that they are eco-friendly and safe for you and our environment. Applying natural ingredients can cease the possibilities of allergic reactions, rashes and may even prevent hair loss. That is why it is very important to read the labels on the back of your hair products. There are many cosmetic companies claiming that their products are All Natural but in reality they may only contain just a couple of natural ingredients with the rest being harsh chemicals. Pay attention to the ingredient list order– if ginger root is the last on the ingredient list– chances are the product is not so natural.
Your product should not contain any ingredients like Sulfates which dry your hair intensely, Parabens (found in cancer cells), phthalates (damages your liver, kidneys, lungs and reproductive system), petroleum and mineral oil (by-products of
gasoline...found in transmission fluids, power steering and brake fluids and
anti-freeze). Kyah Alexandria believes in Truth Labeling and Do Not use any of these ingredients in our products.

Your hair should be protected...the healthy way. Using natural care products will add many benefits to your hair such as progression in nourishment, luster, volume, and healthy hair growth. Most importantly, you are protecting yourself, your children and the environment.

Sesame Street and Natural Hair
I was sitting in my room a couple of mornings ago watching Sesame Street with my two year old. All of a sudden on the tube was a little black muppet girl singing a song about loving her hair. I was so proud to see this. My daughter looked at me then looked at the screen and started dancing and shaking her hair, saying I love my hair too Mommy. I sure needed this when I was a little girl. Maybe kids and adults alike may appreciate their natural hair now. What great inspiration! Kudos to Sesame Street. Check it out.

Why I Decided to Go Natural
My natural hair journey is not hard to comprehend. When I was younger, I always wanted to have hair like my friends...long, straight and silky. However, with tight curls and what appeared to be short hair, I begged my mother for a relaxer. It took a while before she said yes, no thanks to the Jerry Curl (sorry but that's not what I asked for). But I digress. It was until sixth grade when I was granted my wish. Yes! My hair was long and straight. Later in life, my hair got longer (not due to the relaxer) but became brittle and damaged after while (due to the relaxer). It was until then when I was relaxing my hair; I was smoothing the remainder of the product in my hair. A bit of the product dripped onto my bathroom counter top. As I wiped the counter with a plain paper towel, a portion of paint and dirt was removed. Wow! Did this relaxer get rid of a section of paint? That’s some strong stuff. Of course, the relaxer's main ingredient is Sodium Hydroxide. I learned in Chemistry class that Sodium Hydroxide is a major ingredient in oven and drain cleaners. And we all know that it can irritate or burn if it comes in contact with skin. I had the burns on my scalp and on top of my ears, but I would cover it up and go about my day. But I could never forget what it did to my counter top. My hair was still longer but it was dry and brittle at the same time. So, a couple of years late while in college, I decided to put my knowledge of science and natural ingredients to the test. I was my own guinea pig, mixing and adding organics to my hair. I saw tremendous results with my hair growth. However, I felt that I was still missing something.
And that's when I finally decided and got the guts to appreciate and go back to my ROOTS. Honestly, the chemicals we that have access to are just to strong and damaging to our hair and skin. It was so annoying to perm and wash my hair and have to add what felt like the whole bottle of oil to moisturizer my hair, ugh. Now here it is, I'm running late because my hair is dry and not cooperating with me. Yea, when I was finally done with my hair, I was frustrated all over again. Why you ask? Because my hair was a grease ball.GROSS! That's what chemicals do to your hair-strip it's natural oils. So it natural from here on out-natural hair and natural products. No more burning my scalp or ears for silky hair and I am proud to say that I am not ashamed of my hair. My hair is kinky, beautiful and most importantly, healthy and strong. And as I understand it, that is GOOD HAIR.
